Kukicha Green Tea

Kukicha refers to a blend of green tea made of stems, stalks, and twigs from the last plucking of the season.  It has a very nutty, woodsy flavor that is best enjoyed plain.  Kukicha is steeped for 5 or more minutes. Uniquely flavorful, Kukicha is one of the preferred teas of the macrobiotic diet as a substitute for coffee (cold or iced Kukicha makes a very nice iced coffee alternative).  It is also popular among vegans.  Kukicha can also be added to juice to make an excellent children's drink. Kukicha is a powerful anti-oxidant and is very low in caffeine.
